Naturally Sweetened Chocolate Syrup

What's not to like about chocolate syrup?! You can use it to make chocolate milk, drizzle over crepes, drizzle over fruit, or just eat by the spoonful. It's delicious!

NATURALLY SWEETENED CHOCOLATE SYRUP

  • 1 1/2 cups pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup vanilla

  • 1 1/2 tsp. sea salt

  • 3/4 cup raw cacao

1. Add ingredients in order listed in a small blender, or a wide mouthed quart jar.

2. Blend until smooth in blender, or with an immersion blender in the quart jar.

3. Store covered in the fridge.

NOTES

You can add more or less maple syrup according to your tastes.

Cayenne, cinnamon, and black pepper are all fun additions that you can experiment with in your sauce. Cayenne gives it a little interesting heat. It is also good for your circulation. Cinnamon is nice paired with chocolate and pepper brings out the flavor of chocolate.

You can make hot chocolate by gently heating the milk and syrup to 110 degrees. This temperature is still considered raw and will retain all the nutrients.
