Healthy Ketchup with Fermented Option
Homemade ketchup is best, because you can control the quality and ingredients. Even better, it's so simple you can do it faster than finding it at the grocery store. If you like it more sweet, add a little more syrup. If you like it more tart, add a little more vinegar. You can even switch up the seasoning.
Healthy Ketchup
6 oz. tomato paste
2 tsp. RealTaste Amore seasoning
2 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
1/4 cup raw, apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
Mix together and store in a covered container in the fridge.
NOTES
If you would like it even smoother, give it a whirl in a small blender or food processor.
If desired, add a pinch or so of RealTaste Peace seasoning to taste.
Fermentation Option
1 Tbsp. whey
1. Add whey to above mixture and place in a jar.
2. Ferment at room temperature for 2 days in the summer and 3 days in the winter.
