Chocolate Banana Smoothie
1 cup raw milk
1 cup spinach, optional
2 Tbsp. raw cacao, or to taste
2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup, or to taste
1 Tbsp. nut butter, optional
1 tsp. vanilla
1 frozen medium banana, sliced
Shredded unsweetened coconut and cacao nibs, optional
1. Blend milk and spinach in blender until smooth.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
3. Top with coconut and cacao, if desired.
1 heaping tablespoon of raw nuts can be substituted for the nut butter.
If you'd like it thicker, use another banana. If you want it really thick like soft serve ice cream, you can use 3. It makes for a nice healthy dessert.
Adjust the sweetener and cacao to taste.
Add some fresh or frozen avocado for additional healthy fat and protein.
You can also add a little left-over oatmeal for more fiber and protein.
